In Memoriam: Gordon Harry Watts

The Lindsay Agricultural Society extends its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family of Gordon Watts and to the many friends, colleagues, and community members whose lives he touched.  A dedicated and respected Board Member for many years before serving as President in 1998 and 1999, Gord devoted countless hours of volunteer service to the Lindsay Agricultural Society. He played an instrumental role in one of the most significant milestones in our history - the relocation of the Lindsay Fairgrounds to its present home. Through his vision, determination, and tireless efforts, he helped lay the foundation upon which our Society continues to thrive today.

His steadfast dedication to agriculture and to the Lindsay Agricultural Society leaves an enduring legacy that will be remembered for generations to come.

Beyond his countless contributions, Gordon will be remembered for the character with which he served - a quiet strength, a compassionate heart, and an unwavering willingness to give of himself for the betterment of his community.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, volunteers, staff, and members of the Lindsay Agricultural Society, we extend our sincerest sympathies to SueAnne, Genevieve, James, Joel, Jonathan, his cherished grandchildren, and the entire Watts family.  Gordon was woven into the very fabric of this community in such a special and meaningful way, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Thank you, Gordon, for your years of faithful service, your unwavering dedication, and the extraordinary legacy you leave behind. You helped build far more than fairgrounds. You helped build a stronger Lindsay Agricultural Society and a stronger community. Your contributions will continue to inspire those who follow in your footsteps, and your memory will forever hold a place of honour in the history of our Society.
