Ontario farmers are continuing to invest in soil health and climate resilience as new funding programs and sustainability initiatives gain momentum across the province. Programs like the Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program (RALP) are helping producers improve long-term productivity while protecting farmland for future generations.
The program supports projects such as cover cropping, pollinator habitats, reduced tillage, wetland restoration, and improved nutrient management practices. Farmers are increasingly adopting these methods to improve soil quality, reduce erosion, and help farms better withstand extreme weather conditions.
The Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) has also expanded cost-share opportunities for equipment and practices that support sustainable farming. Funding is available for cover crop planting equipment, including no-till seeders and even drone technology used for seeding applications.
For Ontario agriculture, these programs represent more than environmental stewardship — they are practical investments in the future profitability and resilience of family farms.
