Supporting the Next Generation: The George & Marg Clarke Youth Agriculture Award

Are you a young agricultural leader in Kawartha Lakes planning to pursue further education? Applications are now open for the George & Marg Clarke Youth Agriculture Award, presented in partnership with the Kawartha Community Foundation.

This annual $1,000 award is designed to recognize and support a local youth who is deeply immersed in the agricultural community and looking to take the next step in their education or training.


Who Is Eligible?

To be considered for the award, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of the City of Kawartha Lakes.

  • Show active involvement in agriculture through family farming, 4-H, Junior Farmers, employment, volunteering, or related activities.

  • Plan to enroll in a post-secondary education or training program focused on an agriculture-related field.

  • Exemplify a strong work ethic, solid character, leadership skills, sportsmanship, and community dedication.


Award & Presentation Details

  • Value: $1,000, disbursed once enrollment in an eligible program is confirmed.

  • Presentation: The recipient will be proudly announced and presented with the award at the upcoming Kawartha Lakes 4-H Celebration Event.

  • Application Deadline: October 1, 2026.
