Sponsorship Program

Who We Are

The Lindsay Agricultural Society is a registered not-for-profit charitable organization, incorporated under a Provincial Act.  The Society has a 15 member Board of Directors who are elected at the Annual Meeting.  The Annual Meeting is open to members and guests of the Lindsay Agricultural Society and is held in January.  It costs $15.00 to become a member of the Lindsay Agricultural Society.

What We Do

The Lindsay Agricultural Society has a variety of committees composed of volunteers who work together to stage the Lindsay Central Exhibition at the fairgrounds in Lindsay.  The fair in 2007 will mark the 153rd consecutive fair since 1854 and will be held at our new site at 354 Angeline Street South.

Why We Do It

Fairs improve the quality of life as people of all ages are entertained and educated.  Fairs are an aspect of our community, as important as galleries, theatres and hockey arenas.  A lot of planning and work goes into staging a fall fair. The goal of the Lindsay Central Exhibition is to present agriculture in a manner that is both educational and entertaining to the rural and urban consumer oriented fair-goers. The competitive element embraced in exhibiting at the Lindsay Central Exhibition has been retained through the years.  This makes the fair meaningful to agricultural producers and ensures that top-quality products are showcased.

Yes, We Are Prize Winners

Not only does our community win in many ways when the Lindsay Central Exhibition is held each year, but the Lindsay Central Exhibition is a prize winner in itself!  For that we thank our many, many sponsors, supporters and fair-goers!

The Lindsay Central Exhibition has won Local Fair of the Year, Canadian Fair of the Year and a Best Overall Entertainment Package Award.

Yes, We Have Many, Many Prize Winners

There are hundreds of categories of competition at the Lindsay Central Exhibition in many, many classes from domestic science to demolition derbies, from horses to cattle, from quilts to art. There are hundreds of winners and runners-up, all of whom are recognized with prizes.

It is the support of sponsors from our community that makes the prize giving possible and brings joy to the hearts of hundreds of competitors at the fair. As well, fair-goers enjoy the competitions and other entertaining and educational aspects of our fair.

Lindsay Central Exhibition Attendance

The last five-year average annual attendance of over 40,000 attests to the consistent popularity of the Lindsay Central Exhibition.
